All about AutCasts…

This newsletter takes you into the life of a neuroqueer woman just trying to survive in a neurotypical world, through the lens of films which celebrate oddball, rebellious and non-conformist, heroes, heroines and antihero(in)es. Taking one of my favourite films as the focus of each week, I explore the experience of undiagnosed autism, the impact of late diagnosis and the joys and challenges of embracing this newly discovered identity.

All about me…

I’m a queer (she/her) and neurodivergent writer, researcher and translator based between Ireland and Guatemala. My work has been published or is forthcoming in Electric Lit, Catapult, LitHub, Litro, Barren, Rejection Letters, and Refinery29, among others.

I’m a doctoral candidate with the School of Sociology and Political Science at NUI Galway, holding the Andrew Grene Postgraduate Scholarship for Post-Conflict Resolution from the Irish Research Council, for which I am researching feminist practices of healing justice in Guatemala with the wonderful Centre for Training, Healing and Transpersonal Research - Q’anil. You can read more about them here!

In my previous life I worked in communications and advocacy with international development organisations including the UN and INGOs in Ireland, Guatemala, Mexico, Bolivia and Timor-Leste.
